With that being said, I am able to get photos from the field and the press-box. I use my Galaxy S3 camera which is 8 megapixels and also my Olympus digital camera which is 12 megapixels.
That is ME at Cowboys stadium for the 2010 5A state championship game.
Yeah, I have worked a lot of games and one of the stadiums I have been a frequent visitor to is Alamo stadium which is currently under extensive renovation and it won’t be completed till next April.
I am fascinated by by this renovation since this is a 70 year old registered historic stadium and I have taken several trips to get pictures (most recently was with Brian Clancy, an Assistant Athletic Director with SAISD). And, some of those Alamo stadium photos can be seen on the SAISD athletic website. We are tentatively planning on a visit for the week of August 26th (aka WEEK 0).
When I saw this tweet below from Texas HS Football (@texashsfootball), I knew I HAD to be a part of it!!!

Dude, I got so many pictures to choose from. This is gonna be fun!
I didn’t want to put this off till the next day so I rolled out of bed (I know I am not the only who plays with their phone in bed) and somehow managed to make it to my man cave in the pitch black and without stepping on a cat. OK, my man cave doesn’t have a HUGE TV, a COMFY SOFA, or SPORTS MEMORABILIA! It features a comfy leather chair, a bungee cord chair, and a very small desk with a laptop computer with a view of the front yard, the neighbors garage, and the kitty litter! That is where the majority of my blogging is done…oh no, know you now my secret of success!
I wanted to stand-out from the rest of the pack and provide pictures that I know nobody else had and the choice was simple…ALAMO STADIUM RENOVATION photos. So, I complied several photos and sent it to them.
Their were 6 media people (one of them was me) along with 112 High Schools from the state of Texas for this massive Photo Project who participated. I was expecting all the pictures they chose to be online and links to the photographer, but instead it was a 14:28 YouTube video…I am not complaining, I am just so happy to be a part of it. It is great publicity for me and my BLOG.
Of course I watched the entire video…I had to see where I am at which is at the 6:36 minute mark of the video. The coolest thing is they used 2 of my photos and I picked em right as I was the only one with Alamo stadium pictures!!! Kudos to me!
Let me just say, the folks at Texas HS Football did a marvelous job putting this together. Toward the end was a tribute to some kids who lost their lives way too early. They finished the video with a tribute to all the 2012 High School Football state championships. Man, I got goosebumps…such awesome photos from everyone.
It is kinda weird that my photos are getting more publicity than my writings right now and I am OK with that. I know people will see them and that will help promote my High School football BLOG and that is what I want. Who knows, maybe this is the start of something bigger for me.
I like to write and love providing my thoughts on all the games I work and sharing it with my fellow High School football junkies. Nothing is off limits for me!! So, be prepared cause we are gonna have a lot of fun!!! Pictures will always be included at no extra charge.
Each article I magically construct (out of meows..sorry, cat started bugging me) will appear on Saturday’s and Sunday’s on mdlblog.com throughout the football season.
On Wednesday’s, I will select the STAT OF THE WEEK from the games I work.
