I really want to thank Joe Montoya who has been my chaperone for the majority of the visits. He has been absolutely wonderful and never once said no to me. His last day on the site is 6/27 and next up for him will be the SA Convention Center. I am planning for my last visit probably in August.
There were a bunch of workers working in different parts of the stadium and they deserve a bunch of thanks…dude, it was hot!! I was there for less than 30 minutes and I was sweating up a storm.
Alamo stadium is still a work in progress but it will be ready for Week 1 on August 28th as the Lanier Voks play the Central Catholic Buttons. I will be at the Gucci Bowl that night for a Thursday Night Lights TV game. I am going to reach to Carlos Enrico, the Buttons Athletic Director, to see if he can get somebody to take pics of opening night for me so I can post them on my BLOG.
The track was supposed to be installed last week (if I get pictures of that, I will share them with you), but that has been delayed due to weather. Right now, the focus is on detail work in the massive press-box and wiring in the fancy locker rooms.
As I wondered around the press-box, I saw the area for where I will likely be doing stats for the games I work at Alamo stadium…man, that was awesome!!
Oh, the pictures will be of better quality than all of my other ones because I purchased a new camera.
