A few days ago, I saw a picture from Texas Bob of the new Katy ISD High School football stadium being built and it got me thinking that I really miss photographing stadium renovations. I even told Texas Bob that I would love to come up to Katy and take my own photographs. Maybe, I can do that during the football season because that will also give me an excuse to see the Katy Tigers.
Even though their weren’t any football stadium renovations happening now in San Antonio, their was a new gymnasium being built. This new gymnasium is located at the Dub Farris Athletic Complex in the Northside Independent School District. Once it is completed, the Athletic Complex will have obviously a gymnasium which can be used for many different events, a football stadium, and a Natatorium.
Last year, I worked a few games at Farris stadium (the last one being on October 23rd) and saw some of the very early work being done on the new gymnasium. So, on Friday, I decided to deal with Friday afternoon rush hour traffic and take some photographs of the new gymnasium.
I didn’t know what to expect, but when I arrived, my expectations were totally exceeded as a lot of work has been done and you can easily see what the gymnasium will look like. It is AWESOME and ENORMUS and I can’t wait to see the finished product this Fall.
I am going to reach out the NISD athletic staff to see if I can get inside access (just like I got with Alamo stadium).
