I was the statistician for the Spanish radio broadcasts for UTSA football in 2012, and David Miguel did the color commentary. Since he was from out-of-town, I picked him up at his hotel and we drove together to the games. What a great way to get to know somebody. Since then, we have kept in touch through social media.

What was your first job in sports?
Field Producer at KWHY TV in Los Angeles. During the 07-08 campaign, I transitioned to the Reporter/Producer job for the L.A. Lakers magazine show.
What are some memorable moments you have been a part of?
Interviewing Manu Ginobili and covering the Spurs in 2014 when they won the title.
How did you get the UTSA Football job?
Got it after speaking with the sports production manager at that time.
CA or TX, which is better for a sports broadcasting job?
Tough question. For those starting out, maybe Texas. But if you get a job with a professional team in either state, you are in a great position.
Of all the jobs you have had in sports, what is one that you wish you can go back to right now?
I love play-by-play. It doesn’t matter what sports. I do miss covering Kobe and the Lakers; that was a great run.
What are doing now?
I am a Freelance announcer for the Conmebol Sudamericana.
What does David do for fun?
I run, go to the beach, and travel (I was in Rome and Sweden last year).
