The Alamo Convocation Center along with Alamo stadium were renovated and I got inside access to both facilities during the renovations. As as I was leaving the gym, I said out-loud to Mike, “that I am still amazed that I got to see the renovations up close and personal.” I have a feeling that every time I visit either the gym or football stadium, I will always think of that statement!!! Yeah, it was awesome and the photos I took were featured on TV several times and I also was interviewed on TV because of it.
Coming into the game, the Lanier Voks had 21 wins and 10 losses and were 14 and 0 in District 28-5A and the Sam Houston Hurricanes had 11 wins and 12 losses and were 9 and 6 in District 28-5A. Not knowing anything about the teams and only by looking at the records, one would think Lanier would win this game easily. Lanier was also the number 1 ranked team on Mike’s website!!! Being undefeated in District is a pretty amazing accomplishment!!!
Well folks, I am sorry to tell you that Lanier didn’t win. Sam Houston defeated Lanier by a score of 72 to 60. The leading scorer was Devin Allen from Sam Houston…he had 20 points.
I didn’t take as many pictures as I did with South San and East Central…I wanted to watch the game and I was also trying to help Mike with some score updates from other games.
