As I walked into the West Side Chamber of Commerce, I was greeted by Gabe Farias. The presence of Gabe intimidated me. I don’t know if it was the beard or the fact that I have never seen a large man wear athletic shorts!! I did know that we had something in common…we both like to talk!! And, that was why I bothered to show-up on a very hot Saturday morning. Even before the podcast started, we were discussing the difference between a dork, a geek, and a nerd.
But, nobody wants to hear that crap, correct? Or do you? I can keep going if you want me to!! I don’t need much encouragement folks.
Yesterday, I was on a podcast called the The Ruckus with Gabe Farias and Shane Meling. Gabe is a Texas Sports Radio Network co-worker of mine, the voice of Incarnate Word football, and the President/CEO of the West Side Chamber of Commerce. Shane is the Sports Information Director for Incarnate Word.
The format of The Ruckus is very simple…it is primarily about SPORTS, but they discuss movies, music (from Gabe’s Ipad), and life. My advice to you is STOP LISTENING TO THE NATIONAL SPORTS SHOWS AND LISTEN ONLY TO THE RUCKUS!!! Gabe and Shane make it fun and I was happy to join them for the ride. You can probably hear me laughing in the background.
Oh, you can listen to the podcast at: http://www.sasportslive.com. Yeah, I was a bit nervous at first, but after the first few words came out of my mouth, I felt very relaxed and comfortable with Gabe and Shane. I am really looking forward to joining them again for another podcast.
Afterwards, I felt famous!!! Now, if I can only get some money for my writing or photographs, that would be the ultimate prize!!
It was a pleasure to be the first guest and I got to talk about High School Football (holy crap, it starts in 25 days) and my Alamo stadium renovation photos (I am going on Friday for my final visit). I will do almost anything to promote me and my BLOG for more awareness!! I love the free publicity.
