The Judson head coaching position will be the most coveted job in the country. Why? Well, I tell you. The Judson Rockets have 37 consecutive winning seasons (that is good for number 1 in the state of Texas). Oh, they have also won 5 state championships!! And, they play in a state-of-the-art football stadium. OMG, how can I forget that they have the most passionate fans and alumni.
I know the list of potential job candidates will be full of all-star names and they are salivating at this opportunity. But, I want the Athletic Director, the Superintendent, the Board of Directors, and anybody else who has any say in the hiring of a new coach to DISREGARD EVERYBODY ON THE LIST EXCEPT FOR FORMER JUDSON PLAYERS AND COACHES AND CURRENT JUDSON COACHES!!! Basically, I want them to a hire a Judson Insider cause they know “the ins and outs of the Judson program”.
When I heard Mark was leaving, I was surprised but completely respectful of his decision to leave. I mean, everybody has career goals and making more money is the most common. I am sure there were a lot more factors that weighed in on the decision and if this was an investigative BLOG, I would seek the truth and share it with you, but it isn’t…I just like to write and force my opinions and personality on you.
I do want to wish Mark Smith best of luck at Madison and if and when Judson plays Madison, I know Mark will glance at the Judson sideline and shed a little tear of what he accomplished and what he could’ve accomplished had he stayed.
NOTE: Mark Smith was Johnny Manziel’s High School football coach at Kerrvile Tivy and Johnny has a great chance of being the 1st pick of the 2014 NFL Draft next month!!!
