I had no clue that the leading rusher in San Antonio was Marquie Hinton from the Stevens Falcons. I worked a Stevens game in Week 4 and I don’t remember him having a good game.
I have seen O’Connor 3 times already this season and they can burn you with the passing game of Zach Galindo, the running game of Tre Johnson, or they can shut you down with there defense. They are a fun team to watch!!!
Marquie Hinton, the Stevens running back, was the lone bright spot for the Falcons last night…he had 26 carries for 157 yards. Even though the season is over for the Falcons, Hinton will be one of the top running backs to watch next season as he is only a Junior!!!
The Panthers running back, Tre Johnson, was magnificent…he had 13 carries for 175 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also had a touchdown reception from Zach Galindo. Galindo was 7 for 9 passing for 133 yards with 1 interception and 2 touchdowns.
The O’Connor Panthers are really really good and they could be a team that may surprise a lot of folks in the playoffs.
Going into the final week of the regular season, it looks like Brandeis and O’Connor will be the top two teams in this district with the final 2 slots to be determined next week between Jay, Clark, Holmes, and Warren…Wow!!!!!
FINAL SCORE
Stevens 17 (1-9, 1-7)
O’Connor 45 (7-2, 6-1)
Next Friday, I will be at Rutledge stadium for the New Braunfels Unicorns and the Judson Rockets.
On Saturday, I am at the Dome for UTSA football as they host McNeese State.
