san antonio spurs

Tell me if you have heard this before:

The San Antonio Spurs won the Southwest Division
The San Antonio Spurs have the best record in the Western Conference
The San Antonio Spurs have the best record in the NBA
The San Antonio Spurs are too old
I am gonna be honest and tell you that I didn’t watch one complete Spurs game this season.  Please don’t slap my blog, slap me instead!!!   I got a perfect excuse…my wife (yep, blame the wife) and I ditched cable last October.  Even though we got it back in February, we didn’t become cable TV junkies…we just watch our favorite shows on CBS and FOX.  Yeah, during commercial breaks, I would flip to the Spurs game just to see the score.
For my Spurs updates throughout the season, I relied on Facebook, Twitter, and Scorecenter (an app).
I won’t make any Playoff predictions cause half of the time I am wrong…wait, so, half the time I am correct!!!  Hmm, maybe I should?
I do think the West is going to come down to 3 teams…obviously the Spurs, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Houston Rockets.
The Thunder have Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook and the Rockets have James Harden, Dwight Howard, and Jeremy Lin.  It really feels strange talking about the West and the LA Lakers and Kobe Byrant didn’t even make the Playoffs…oh well!!
In the East, I think the last 2 teams standing will be the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers.   Miami is the defending NBA Champions back-to-back and they have Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh!!   Personally, I would love to see Miami lose in the Playoffs.  The Pacers kinda remind of the Spurs and they have a few former Spurs in George Hill, Ian Mahinmi, and Luis Scola.
I know there will be a HUGE upset in the Playoffs and wherever team it is, it will definitely be the leading news story on the thing called SOCIAL MEDIA.
The San Antonio Spurs will host the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of the first round on Sunday at the AT&T Center at Noon.

The Mavs got one of my favorite players in Dirk Nowitzki.  Man, my big question is will DeJuan Blair have any impact at all in this series?

I’ve got a solution for this particular series that is much healthier than nail biting, heart attacks, screaming at the players, screaming at the TV, or using social media to complain about what should’ve happened and that is to throw the first 6 games in the trash can and play a game 7 on a neutral court and make the score even at 85 with 5 minutes left in the game.  Let them battle it out!!!

I will have NEW Spurs BLOGS after each round is concluded.  Yes, I am planning on watching the games (it will help me write the best damn SPURS BLOG for you).
